Tourist licence in the Region of Murcia (VV.MU)
The Region of Murcia registers holiday homes with the ITREM, its tourism institute, under a signatura (reference number) of the form VV.MU.6935-1, and the number must appear in advertising. The public register includes a cadastral reference for around 71% of entries, which lets you recover the correct number when an advert carries it with typos.
What does the Murcian signatura look like?
The register uses VV.MU followed by a file number and a hyphenated unit digit. VV.MU.6935-1 is the first dwelling of file 6935. The format is little known outside the region, and that obscurity has a cost. Adverts write it from memory, with extra dots, missing hyphens or the final digit dropped.
The cadastre saves the day. The official list carries a cadastral reference - the property's official land-records ID - for most entries, so a mistyped signatura is not a dead end. We locate the dwelling by its reference and recover the number the register actually holds. It is the difference between "not found" and "badly typed".
What does the regional regulation require?
Decree 256/2019 governs tourist-use dwellings in the region. You file a responsible declaration with the ITREM, enter the Register of Tourism Enterprises and Activities, and state the signatura in all advertising. The 2013 tourism law backs the sanctions regime, which reaches whoever advertises without registration, not only the owner.
For years, people repeated that Murcia "published no per-property register". That was wrong. The list exists on the regional tourism site, and we mirror it nightly. Data being hard to find does not make it non-existent - but it explains why many Murcian portfolios have gone unchecked for years.
What does an agency with Murcian stock watch?
Three things, nightly. Does the advert's signatura exist in the register? Does the advert's cadastral reference point at the same dwelling as the registration? And does the advertised capacity stay within the registered one? All three divergences surface in the official file first. The sanction file comes later, and it reaches the advertiser.
